2. Product and Service Auditor
You probably already have a pretty good idea of what a Product and Service Auditor is. If you said,

"It's a person that gets paid to secretly visit selected establishments to spy on them," ... you're half right.

Actually, as a Product and Service Auditor, you many times do secretly visit selected establishments, but you are not there to spy on them. You are not trying to catch them doing something wrong. In fact, you're not even looking for something right. To be a "spy" would be more categorized as a "mystery shopper" more than a product and service auditor.

As a product and service auditor, when you go into a store, restaurant, theme park, or on a cruise ship - or any business that values their customers, you are there for only one reason ... to evaluate your experience.

Okay, then why all the secrecy? Well, look at it this way. Do you think you would get the same service and treatment from a salesperson who knew you were there to evaluate him or her? Chances are you wouldn't.

We both know you'd probably get the "Red Carpet" treatment. Your objective is to go into a store and be treated as any other "everyday customer." Thus, the secrecy.

As a Field Auditor you will receive many FREE benefits. Free merchandise is only one. Dine at the finest restaurants, see the latest movies, take trips, cruises ... the possibilities are endless. The best part is not only getting free stuff, but you get paid to evaluate the free stuff you are getting.

This Field Auditor program will acquaint you with the methods you must use to get your name on the coveted "Field Auditor" list. It's not hard to do, but like anything else, information and knowing what to do and how to do it, is the biggest key to your success.

In this, you'll learn how to apply your knowledge to many of the positions ... and most importantly ... you'll receive a list of over 100 domestic and foreign business evaluation companies having thousands of positions and assignments for you to perform. Just follow the simple directions, and you'll be on your way to an exciting NEW job!

Remember, you are the main thread that keeps the corporate headquarters informed about how their employees are treating customers.

So if you've had a bad experience with a certain establishment in the past, and you feel you can't be objective in your evaluation, you must be professional enough to decline the assignment! This is no time for pay-backs. As a certified field auditor you must take a personal oath to be fair in your auditing and evaluations.

Many businesses operate from the top floor of an ivory tower, and have absolutely no idea how their customers are being treated.

They have stores all over the country and you, as a field auditor would perform a valuable service in keeping them in touch with their customers' needs. By having you (the average customer), report on your shopping experience, corporate leaders can better achieve uniformity throughout their chains. They are acutely aware that cleanliness, service and the quality of their products are essential to their success and growth.

If you take on your assignment with a professional attitude, and give Headquarters your loyalty by not revealing your findings to any other source - whether friends, competitors or other Marketing research companies, you can have a profitable, trusting, long lasting working relationship with them.

So remember, only report your findings to the company that is paying you!

Name your own hours
If you are a housewife, mother, retiree, or part time worker, you will have the option of working around your schedule - unless you're required to be at a certain establishment at a precise time and day ... which is unusual. The exception would be if you were requested to visit an establishment only during happy hour, early bird specials, moonlight madness sales, etc.

If you're a parent with small children in pre-school or working part-time in another job, you can most likely request certain hours that are best for you.
Remember ... you are the link that keeps Corporate Headquarters informed!

3. Best Ways to Get Started
There are many companies that hire and place field auditor. The most important thing you can do to insure your field auditor status is to do your homework. Present yourself as a well organized and informed applicant.

Being listed with a reputable business evaluation companies is your best way to enter the field auditor arena. We have already had you sign up and get certified with one major business evaluation company (Market Force) and we will present you with over 100 additional in this program. So everything is in place for you to get a good start.

Don't overlook the option of contacting the manufacturers yourself. Chances are they will refer you to a preferred business evaluation company ... but you never know. They might just recruit you directly on the spot! In addition to the business evaluation companies we provide, we will also give you some direct manufacturers you can deal with as well.

The list in below on business evaluation companies will give you an idea of places that use field auditor.

Don't be afraid to say no if you don't feel comfortable with an assignment. If you don't drink alcoholic beverages, let them know ahead of time. They will do their best to not place you in assignments that require drinking. As a Field Auditor, there are many areas you can work in. For example, you don't have to take assignments for a computer store, if you have absolutely no knowledge of computers.

Remember ... You are under no pressure to accept an assignment.

There are many ways you can go about finding work as a field auditor. Here are just a few ideas:

1. Use any of the 100 + companies we list that you are interested in.
2. Go to the Internet and search "field auditor" or "mystery shopper" to find even more opportunities.
3. If interested in finding off line companies, contact marketing and research companies in your area.
4. Ask your friends ... some may already be field auditor or mystery shopper.

But here is the Best Way ...

We list here over 100 business evaluation market research companies that use field auditor. Simply sign up using the online application we provide for each business evaluation company.

After you have applied to the business evaluation companies, sit back and wait for an acceptance phone call, letter, or e-mail. You usually will start getting assignments within 48 hours, but a week is about average.

4. Your First Assignment

When the business evaluation companies call or send e-mail, they will ask you if you are available for a certain time and date and for a specific assignment. For example, let's say a department store needs a field auditor during a certain week, between Monday and Friday. Your assignment is to evaluate the Ladies Department of a specified store.

Your pay might be $65.00 for the trip and you will be allowed to purchase merchandise valued up to $35.00, which is compensated. You will also receive a questionnaire or assignment sheet in the mail several days before your shopping assignment, with detailed instructions.

Your questionnaire could have 20, 30 or more questions to review. For example, you might be asked:

- To check out the displays to see if they are neat and well put together.

- Ask the sales personnel about certain items and see how they go about assisting you in obtaining a size that is not readily available.

- To request trying on several items and check the dressing rooms for neatness.

- To check the shelves and counters to see if they are well stocked and neat in appearance.

- To observe if the sales clerk was attentive and helpful.

You would then follow the directions of the assignment sheet and complete the needed/requested information by the company you just audited and/or business evaluation company.

So the whole assignment took you an hour to go to the store and complete the needed evaluation. You then send the completed assignment back along with the receipt(s) for anything you had to purchase and you get paid your $65.00 as well as the compensation for the product you purchased. You will also get to keep the product you purchased as well. So let's sat you bought a new wallet for $35.00, you would get a check for $100.00 and have a new wallet all for one hour worth of your time.

It is that simple!

5. How To Be a Field Auditor
These companies will want you to actually purchase something they suggest, or of your own choice, and make notes on how easy or difficult it was to perform the transaction. (They may even ask you to take the item back at a later date to see how the exchange/refund transaction is handled). Again as mentioned you will always be compensated for any purchases that you will make.

You will most likely be instructed to ask the sales clerk questions about several different items and note his/her response. You may even be requested to visit the restrooms and evaluate how clean and well stocked they are.

Study your assignment carefully before starting on your audit. Take along a note pad ... but make sure you leave it in your car! As soon as you return to your car, enter notes that you can use for reference when completing your assignment sheet. One more important note ..

Never take your assignment sheet into the store with you!

It most likely would violate the terms of your agreement and result in your termination as a field auditor for their company.

Hint: Before you even get out of your car, note your arrival time, and make some reference to surroundings such as weather conditions, crowded parking, etc. This information may not be required with your assignment, but could be a big help to you later, in case you need to remember certain details. Plus, the more detail you can include, the more impressive your audit assignment reports will be.

Here is a sample assignment questionnaire you may receive - CLICK HERE TO SEE SAMPLE

In summary:
1)
Study your questionnaire or assignment sheet carefully
2) Be punctual for your assignment
3) Take detailed notes (out of view of store personnel)
4) Complete your questionnaire or assignment sheet with as much detail as possible

Have fun and enjoy your auditing experience!

6. How Much Work is Involved
After you complete the steps in the previous section, there's not a lot of work left. However, you will be required to complete the assignment within a short time of your evaluation - usually 24 to 48 hours.

Note: While completing your assignment sheet, it is extremely important that you be as accurate as possible.

For example, say you were assigned to eat at a restaurant, and you had to wait a long time before being seated. After 30 minutes or so, you finally get seated...right next to the kitchen. By the time your food arrives you are not in a real good mood. On top of that, you feel the waiter has a real dislike for you. All in all, your meal is less than a pleasant experience.

So, do you put all the above grievances in your report? Absolutely not...unless your assignment sheet specifically asked you to address them! Remember, in writing your report, you must adhere strictly to the questions they are asking and interject no personal thoughts of your experience unless asked.

You can't express your annoyance at being kept waiting, or the less than desirable table you were given...unless those questions are asked on your assignment sheet. If your waiter's nose ring annoyed you, don't express your dissatisfaction unless you're asked in the questionnaire.

The minute you get back to your car, take a few minutes to jot down some notes in your note pad. Later, when you fill out the actual assignment, you will be referring to your notes extensively. Also, make sure you keep your sales receipt. You will need to turn it in for reimbursement of your purchase if any were made.

If you are unsure how to answer a question, call the business evaluation company for details. If you're asked to call within a certain time, make every effort to comply. If they ask you to fax or mail your assignment in, you must adhere to the time allotted for response. If for some reason you can't respond on time, call the business evaluation company immediately and let them know why.

Once you've made a copy of your assignment for your records, and turned in your paper work (including your sales receipt), you are done.

All you have to do now is wait a few days for your reimbursement check in the mail or PayPal account and start thinking of where you would like to do your next audit assignment!

7. Detailed Checklist to Insure Your Successful Start

1. Read this complete program before proceeding to start taking assignments.

2. Send your information to several business evaluation companies using the online links we provide. You don't have to contact all of them, but if you can get going 20 to 30 that will be a great start. Don't forget to include if asked:

A. The hours you are available.
B. A map of the area where you prefer to work.
C. A List of businesses you might prefer.

3. Once processed, you will receive your first assignment. You may receive a phone call or e-mail from the company detailing the job. If in agreement, you will be sent a form with complete instructions.

4. Follow the instructions completely. Take a note pad with you, but keep it in your car for quick notes. Your notes will come in very handy when you complete the assignment. Don't forget to re-read the instructions right before going in to refresh your memory.

Note: If you must make notes while in the store, never
write in your note pad! Instead, a little trick that veteran field auditors use, is to write their notes in a check book. (Nobody ever gets suspicious of somebody writing in a check book).

5. Enjoy your shopping excursion. Remember to make mental notes for later reference. And make mental notes of all details requested on the assignment sheet.

6. When you return to your car, make quick notes on your notepad for later reference. Don't forget to note your surroundings.

7. Fill out the assignment sheet/questionnaire as completely as possible. If you have a question, you can call the company for clarification. Remember to enclose any receipts for reimbursement.

8. Make a copy of everything in your files.

9. Return the form within the deadline time frame. If unable to do so, call the company and tell them why. Now all you have to do is sit back and wait for your reimbursement check and the phone to ring or e-mail with your next assignment!
